Frontend Development Skills and Technologies
- Javascript / Typescript frameworks and libraries like Vue / Nuxt or React / Next. Or plain ES6+, custom web components etc.
- CSS and UX/web design in general (Tailwind, Bootstrap, Atomic Design, BEM, Sass, …)
- Personalization and A/B testing with Adobe Target or ABLyft, be it for classic websites (MPA) or single-page applications (SPA, e.g. Nuxt)
- Full-stack with Node, PHP, or Python. Project experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Firebase, and Supabase. Willingness to get into other backend technologies.
- Frontend for Adobe Experience Manager (CQ5, AEM 6.x, AEM as a Cloud Service)
- Micro-frontend and composable web (formerly known as Jamstack) experiences (e.g. VueStorefront with ContentStack, Storyblok, Builder.io)
I also know a little bit about Adobe Creative Suite and Affinity Designer, so I designed the logo of this website myself ("Schaf" = sheep, "Feld" = field). I really like cross-functional tasks and teams.
Project History
Many projects were in the telecommunications sector, where I helped build shop frontends, maintained telesales web apps and worked on a/b-testing and personalization for online marketing. A/B-testing is kind of a forte, as I'm comfortable with consulting non-technical stakeholders and actively participating in concept and UX tasks. I've been consulting major agency clients as frontend architect, worked as a solution architect for a start-up, and have been involved as senior frontend developer in building greenfield projects.

Lifelong Learning
The web is evolving quickly, so I'm used to and keen on learning new technologies. I am enrolled in MOOC specializations to extend my skill sets in areas like machine learning (especially Natural Language Processing – like even before ChatGPT became hip) and Agentic Development. I occasionally try out new frameworks like Svelte or languages like Go. I'm exploring the idea of going framework-less or -agnostic based on custom web components.
